Denver Broncos who need hot start in training camp #4: Justin Strnad, ILB

Justin Strnad was a highly coveted player when he was drafted by the Denver Broncos back in 2020. Unfortunately, Strnad suffered a wrist injury during training camp that year and ended up missing the entire season.

Fast forward to 2021, and he… did not perform as many had hoped.

Strnad was a replacement for Alexander Johnson and Josey Jewell—who both suffered season-ending injuries. Unfortunately, Strnad was pretty terrible on the field. He was nowhere near the level of player Johnson and Jewell were.

He will get a chance to make a bigger and better impact for the team with Johnson being unsigned in free agency.

The inside linebacker position for the Broncos consists of Jewell, Alex Singleton, Jonas Griffith, and undrafted rookie Kana’i Mauga.

Unless Strnad has drastically improved every part of his game, it’s going to be very tough for him to make a big enough impact to justify keeping him around.

Strand’s potential just has not been met and that has been very disappointing to many people, including us at Predominantly Orange.
