Difficult roster decision for Broncos No. 4: A sixth wide receiver

At wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler are going to make the roster. But that is only four spots and the Broncos currently have 13 receivers on the roster.

That is going to create a wild competition.

Fifth-round pick Montrell Washington figures to have the inside track to make the team and be one of its primary return specialists. But will the Broncos look to squeeze a sixth wide receiver onto the roster?

Travis Fulgham would be a tough player to cut. Kendall Hinton, Seth Williams and Tyrie Cleveland all have spent time with the organization and each of them has grown as a professional player.

These will be some difficult decisions.

The Broncos also have some talented undrafted wide receivers on this roster and it should be expected that as many as four of the receivers on this roster, perhaps, even more, will be added to the team’s 16-player practice squad.

If I were in Paton’s shoes, I would absolutely keep six wide receivers on the 53-man roster.
