Players who should retire with Broncos: Emmanuel Sanders

Teams around the league can always use a veteran wide receiver and even at 35 years old, Emmanuel Sanders can still go out there and give a team something.

He most recently played with the Buffalo Bills and caught 42 passes for 626 yards and four touchdowns last season. But the Bills have moved on, signing Jamison Crowder this offseason and they have Gabriel Davis, who is a player ready to break out.

Sanders has played for three teams since being traded away from Denver in 2019, but his best years as a professional were definitely spent with the Broncos.

He ranks in the top 10 in team history in both receptions and receiving yards. He was a key target for Peyton Manning during the team’s dominant run while the sheriff was in town and he helped the team win Super Bowl 50.

It’s entirely possible that a team needy at the wide receiver position will come calling before the season starts but if not, a one-day deal with the Broncos before an official retirement would make a lot of sense for the man who used to wear No. 10 and was one of the best wide receivers the team ever had.
