The Denver Broncos have officially signed their entire nine-player 2022 NFL Draft class, wrapping up the final two deals that were not yet in the books.

Damarri Mathis, Eyioma Uwazurike round out Denver Broncos draft class

Let’s take a quick look back at the entire Denver Broncos 2022 NFL Draft class for a moment.

Broncos 2022 NFL Draft class

  • Nik Bonitto, EDGE
  • Greg Dulcich, TE
  • Eyioma Uwazurike, DL
  • Damarri Mathis, CB
  • Delarrin Turner-Yell, S
  • Montrell Washington, WR
  • Luke Wattenberg, OL
  • Matt Henningsen, DL
  • Faion Hicks, CB

Although Uwazurike and Mathis were the team’s fourth-round picks in this year’s draft, each of them comes with some pretty high expectations.

A lot of people saw Mathis, in particular, as a day two draft pick throughout the pre-draft process, especially after he had a 43.5-inch vertical jump at the Pittsburgh pro day in addition to a sub-4.4 in the 40-yard dash.

Needless to say, Mathis has a very high Relative Athletic Score and is one of the most physically gifted players on the entire roster.

Eyioma Uwazurike was one of the most productive pass rushing defensive linemen in the Big 12 last season.

He doesn’t have as high of a RAS but he’s certainly a physical player with a ton of length on the interior defensive line.

Both players have a chance to play pretty impactful roles as rookies.

As of right now, it would be surprising if either played starting roles, but you never know what kind of injuries might happen and these two will be high on the overall pecking order.

Mathis, in particular, could have a shot at taking over as the team’s slot cornerback sooner rather than later.

The Broncos’ current starting defensive line appears to be set with a top three of Dre’Mont Jones, DJ Jones, and Mike Purcell, but the competition behind those guys is pretty wide open.

The Denver Broncos obviously didn’t have a first-round pick in this year’s draft due to the Russell Wilson trade, but the picks of Nik Bonitto, Greg Dulcich, Eyioma Uwazurike, and Damarri Mathis made it feel like the team still had multiple second-round picks and multiple third-round picks.

With the deals now signed, the team can completely focus on the football side of things going forward.
