Denver Broncos important non-starter no. 2: Michael Ojemudia, CB

When looking for the most important non-starters on the Denver Broncos’ roster, I think you have to look first at some of the most important position groups on the team in general.

We know the cornerback position has experienced a ton of turnover the last few seasons in Denver due to injuries, which means the players behind the starters at this position group are going to be absolutely critical over the course of a 17-game season.

As of OTAs, it sounds like Michael Ojemudia might not only be one of the most important non-starters on the team, but perhaps one of the best as well.

Ojemudia started most of his rookie season for the Denver Broncos, and while he had some tough luck with interceptions (some dropped, some called back because of penalties), he set a Denver Broncos rookie record for forced fumbles with four.

Ojemudia is a physical presence at the cornerback position and always has been.

Entering his third NFL season, the pressure isn’t exactly on Ojemudia because he’s not currently projected to be one of the team’s top three cornerbacks.

But that could change in a hurry.

We saw a variety of players out of the lineup last year for the Broncos at the cornerback position and Ojemudia will be the first guy called on to fill a void if one pops up.
