Now that OTA’s have come to a close, and the next phase of the offseason is set to begin, which Broncos have landed on the roster bubble?

Before you can even blink, we have reached the mid-June point of the offseason with OTAs in the rearview and training camp on the horizon.

The Denver Broncos have had quite a busy stretch of months up to this point in trading for Russell Wilson, hiring Nathaniel Hackett, and securing new ownership. I would say there is great value in that.

The Broncos also added free agents and have an entire draft class entering the fold for this offseason, which usually means roster shifts are approaching.

With OTA’s now complete, we can see which players on the Broncos have gained momentum and which have not. Thus, putting some players on the roster bubble.

There will be plenty of upcoming position battles on this Broncos team, and it will be fun to watch how this 53-manned squad comes about, but for now, let’s take a look at which four Broncos have landed on the roster bubble.

Denver Broncos roster bubble player no. 4: Jamar Johnson, Safety

Part of a back-to-back pick at the safety position in 2021, Jamar Johnson finds himself on the roster bubble after OTAs.

The Broncos took Johnson in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. With his “ballhawk” reputation coming out of college, many perceived Johnson to make some noise early on for the Broncos.

Unfortunately, Johnson had a COVID designation and some injuries which eliminated all his hope in his first NFL offseason. Johnson was kept on for the 2021 campaign, but he did not show much of an impact.

The Broncos then went out this offseason and drafted another safety in Delarrin Turner-Yell and brought back the hard-hitting Kareem Jackson.

Pair that with promising second-year standout Caden Sterns and an ascending PJ Locke, and Johnson’s days could be numbered in Denver.

He will have to show out from this point on if he hopes to swim off the roster bubble.
