Which Denver Broncos players could be on thin ice as we enter the training camp stage of 2022?

The Denver Broncos have some key players on the roster who will obviously make a tremendous impact during the 2022 season. Russell Wilson, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and the duo of Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams make up for the offensive skill positions.

Justin Simmons, Dre’Mont Jones, Bradley Chubb, and Patrick Surtain II are just a couple of names on the defensive side of the ball that surely will make their mark this upcoming season.

This year is a Super Bowl or Bust type of year. There are no excuses unless Russell Wilson ends up being hurt for an extended period of time. Wilson is the key to a Super Bowl run.

Who could be big question marks, though? Unfortunately, some will either continue to be a non-factor and some may fall out of favor with the team’s new coaching staff.

Denver Broncos on thin ice no. 4: Marquiss Spencer, DL

Marquiss Spencer was a late-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos in 2021 and unfortunately, he has only played in one game for the team. In that game, against the Los Angeles Chargers, Spencer recorded one tackle.

It might not be a surprise to anybody with him being a seventh-round pick. Those picks aren’t necessarily supposed to make a big impact. If they did, that’s great. Spencer has not.

Though he is listed as a defensive end on the team’s official website, Spencer is listed at 300 pounds, which is the weight more fitting for a defensive tackle. Still, the position group is quite stacked, and he will likely need a strong training camp in order to make a case to stick around with the team going forward.
