Denver Broncos strength no. 1: Starting QB

It is completely and totally refreshing to be able to confidently say that the starting quarterback position is once again an area of strength for the Denver Broncos.

That hasn’t been the case for eight seasons.

The Broncos paid the price, but they finally have another legitimate MVP candidate under center again with Russell Wilson joining the orange and blue in 2022.

Even though Josh Johnson has been in the league for a while and Brett Rypien has been valuable to the QB room for the last handful of years, I don’t know that you could say the Broncos exactly have the “deepest” group of quarterbacks in the NFL.

But that doesn’t matter.

This isn’t about roster depth, this is about strength at the top. The Broncos have one of the 10 best starting quarterbacks in the NFL and that ultimately helps make them a Super Bowl contender.

There’s a great roster around Wilson as well, but the fact that he’s under center raises all boats in the harbor.

The move to acquire Wilson could go down as one of the best moves made in team history and his impact in 2022 has already been tremendous.

How much better are the receivers going to be with Wilson throwing passes?

How much better will the running game be without loaded boxes every play?

How much better can this defense be playing with a lead?

Wilson’s arrival changes everything.
