Denver Broncos strength no. 2: The wide receiver position

I don’t know that anyone would disagree that the wide receiver position is absolutely one of the strongest overall areas of this Denver Broncos roster from top to bottom.

The Broncos have arguably the best top four receivers in the NFL when it comes to talent. Other groups have proven more together on the field (Bengals, for one) but the group the Broncos have in place is as dynamic as you will find in the NFL.

Courtland Sutton is the alpha of this group, though he hasn’t led the team in receiving since 2019 due to a season-ending injury early in 2020 and a general lack of a passing game throughout the 2021 season.

Tim Patrick has been the Broncos’ most consistent wide receiver over the last two seasons and was properly rewarded with a three-year contract last year.

Jerry Jeudy is one of the best receivers in the NFL at running routes and creating separation, but because of inconsistencies at the QB position, we have merely seen glimpses of his potential greatness through two seasons.

KJ Hamler battled through injuries to play 13 games his rookie season, and showed off his outstanding speed, explosiveness, and surprising physicality at the position. He tore his ACL last season and has made a rapid comeback to the field in 2022.

Beyond just the top four guys, the Broncos have intriguing depth pieces to work with.

Seth Williams, Travis Fulgham, Tyrie Cleveland, and rookie Montrell Washington make this position group even more interesting as the offseason progresses, and there are always going to be training camp standouts we don’t expect.
