The Denver Broncos have assembled a fantastic roster ahead of the 2022 season. Still, there may be some players they regret letting go.

The Denver Broncos probably won’t have many regrets about the 2022 offseason in the grand scheme of things.

You just never know, though, when one player could have made all the difference.

Are there players the Denver Broncos will regret parting ways with at some point in the 2022 season?

Time will tell.

Let’s take a look at which three players they are most likely to wish they would have brought back at some point during the 2022 offseason.

One of the more surprising moves last year was the Los Angeles Rams’ decision to trade linebacker Kenny Young to the Denver Broncos.

Young was a full-time starter for the Rams, who had one of the best teams in the league, so trading a key player on the defensive side of the ball made very little sense to anyone.

Broncos fans weren’t upset about it.

The Broncos desperately needed Young’s physicality and energy at the position after losing starters Josey Jewell and Alexander Johnson to season-ending pectoral injuries.

The Broncos decided, even after some solid performances last season, not to bring Young back for another season with the team.

There were a few reasons this reunion would have made a lot of sense on paper.

  • The Broncos had (some would argue have) a need.
  • Young is only 26 years old
  • He signed with the Raiders for just $1.278 million, a rather inexpensive deal
  • He was productive as a starter for the Rams, and Ejiro Evero certainly knows him well

The Broncos plan on utilizing plenty of nickel and dime packages this season, so the inside linebacker position is not nearly as critical as many are making it out to be. However, Young seemed like he would have been ideal depth and perhaps even a starter at the position.
