This undrafted pass rusher out of Alabama could give the Denver Broncos a needed boost along the EDGE

Chris Allen was an undrafted free agent out of Alabama for the Denver Broncos.  He didn’t play during the 2021 or 2018 seasons because of injury but did have six sacks and 13 tackles for loss for the Crimson Tide in 2020.

He comes from a premier program in Alabama and was projected as a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

He’s got good size, big hands, a nice arm length, and, you guessed it, a great athlete.

Allen could be someone the Denver Broncos could look at as a quality depth piece who could replace someone like Malik Reed on the roster.

Perhaps Allen could eventually develop into a competent starter.  He’s got all of the tools possible to become an NFL edge rusher, and no pressure to develop quickly.

The team still has Bradley Chubb, Randy Gregory, Nik Bonitto, Baron Browning, and Jonathon Cooper who would all probably be ahead of Allen on the depth chart.

Allen is in a very favorable situation in Denver and could fly under the radar a bit for opposing offenses if he’s able to see the field.

Not only do I expect Allen to make the team as an undrafted player, but I think he could make some noise as well.
