Rumors regarding a potential resolution with new Broncos ownership are heating up, and there’s potential that all candidates are involving Peyton Manning.

The Denver Broncos could have a new owner very soon.

According to Mike Klis of 9News, Monday is the deadline for bids to be placed for the finalists in the sale of the team.

There are four groups, per Klis, in on the bidding:

  • Rob Walton and Greg Penner
  • Josh Harris
  • Jose E. Feliciano
  • Matt Ishbia

Klis also notes that a familiar face could be involved potentially with all four of these bidders. That familiar face is none other than Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning possibly involved in Denver Broncos ownership

It’s quite the situation going on around Denver Broncos headquarters right now. Billionaires and their business partners have made their final bids to the team (or will make them, depending on when you are reading this post).

There exists a possibility that not only Peyton Manning but NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson could both be involved in the process.

One thing is certain — the Denver Broncos became a much more desirable acquisition this offseason when the team made a blockbuster trade to acquire quarterback Russell Wilson.

The addition of Russell Wilson has significantly ramped up not only interest in the team but the team’s championship aspirations as well.

The Broncos will undoubtedly be a force again in the NFL this season after six years of dismal play, and a prospective owner will inherit a really great situation.

It’s crucial to have someone like Manning in the building who can not only be a “face” of your ownership group, but someone who genuinely understands the game at every level. Manning is as sharp as they come and sees everything from a bird’s eye view.

He has big-picture vision and would be a powerful voice in the NFL owner meetings.

That is, perhaps, the greatest advantage to having Manning as a minority owner or at least having some stake in the game. He is arguably the best football mind of our generation and having him as a significant voice in major decisions that get made for the league would be outstanding.

It’s important not to get too far ahead of ourselves or overstate the importance of a minority owner, too.

It’s possible that Manning wouldn’t be quite as hands-on, if he’s involved at all.

Some of the potential new owners of the Denver Broncos already have experience owning professional sports teams, including Josh Harris who owns the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA and New Jersey Devils of the NHL.

Whatever is going to happen, it seems like a resolution will be coming rather soon.
