Bryce Callahan, Los Angeles Chargers

Bryce Callahan sat on the open market for months before the Los Angeles Chargers signed him about a month ago, but what a place to end up.

Callahan, a 7-year NFL veteran, may have just been looking for the right deal. He went to a place where he could play on one of the best defenses in the league.

The Chargers already had Derwin James and last year’s second-round pick, Asante Samuel Jr, on the roster before going out and signing J.C. Jackson, one of the most coveted free agents on this year’s market.

Callahan will join that secondary, which also has capable players in Nasir Adderley and Michael Davis.

Callahan is capable of being one of the best nickel corners in football and he will offer the Chargers a chance to be quite versatile on defense. He will also be a guy who gets a chance to play the Broncos twice in 2022.

Callahan was never bad with the Broncos, racking up 70 total tackles, two interceptions, one sack and nine pass deflections in 21 games with the team, but he could absolutely find better success in Los Angeles.

It will be interesting to see how he matches up against Broncos receivers in games between the teams next season.
