The Denver Broncos have made several big moves this offseason, but what about some of the players who are moving onto new teams?

In addition to trading for Russell Wilson, the Broncos signed Randy Gregory and D.J. Jones in free agency. All three of those guys are players who have a good chance to be great with their new teams.

But the same can be said for a few former Broncos.

As is the case every year in the league, teams are not able to bring back all of their own players or in other cases, feel it’s best to just move on.

Those players then catch on with new teams and have a chance to revive their careers or even be in a better position than before. It happens every season.

The Broncos have had a handful of players move on this offseason but for the most part, they were able to keep the core of the team together while also bringing in several upgrades at key positions.

While each of these players appeared to have worn out their welcome in Denver, each of them will have a chance to get their careers back on track and perhaps even be a huge factor for the new team they signed with.

Former Broncos who will get a chance to contribute elsewhere

Stephen Weatherly and Kenny Young are both intriguing options with their new teams. What makes that interesting is that both of them are players George Paton acquired in trades during the 2021 season.

Re-signing Young would not have been a bad idea this offseason as more depth could be used at the inside linebacker position, but the team chose not to and Young eventually signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Now he could come back to haunt his former team as the Broncos will see him twice a year.

I was also a proponent of the team bringing back Weatherly, who had some flashes last season and would have made for a good rotational pass-rusher for the Broncos. He’ll now have the chance to do that with the Cleveland Browns where he will play on a defensive unit that also features Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney.
