The Denver Broncos have a very good roster, but it could be better, so let’s look at three offensive and three defensive free agents the team should sign.

There will never not be quality free agents on the market, even after the main free agency period is over.  For the Denver Broncos, their roster is about ready.  There may be a few small holes the team could address, but compared to the rest of the league, the roster is ready to compete on Sundays.

However, Denver should still consider signing a few players to not only fill small holes, but to make good or average positions even better.

I’m of the opinion that great teams continually look for reasons to be great and are never satisfied.  Great teams find a way to win on the field, and great General Managers should always have a proactive mindset.

If I was George Paton, I would still be on the phones trying to add a few more pieces to make this roster even better.

Denver’s roster is easily one of the 5-7 best in the NFL in my opinion, but just because it’s really good, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t want the team to add a few more quality players.

So, let’s pick three offensive and three defensive free agents the Denver Broncos should sign for 2022

Three offensive and three defensive free agents for Denver Broncos

6. JC Tretter, center

Those who read Predominantly Orange articles might be annoyed that I keep including JC Tretter in every appropriate piece, but he’s an above-average center who would give some certainty to the position.

The Denver Broncos center position is currently up in the air.  Lloyd Cushenberry hasn’t been great the past two seasons, and the other players who have a bit of center experience don’t have a ton of it.

Netane Muti, Quinn Meinerz, and Graham Glasgow are all guards first but can play center.

Meinerz and Glasgow may be best served as the team’s two starting guards for 2022 and perhaps beyond, so I think signing a true, quality, a veteran center like Tretter then allows the Broncos to clear some of the logjam up with the offensive line.

The team could trade a few of these players for 2023 draft capital since they don’t have a ton of that and could begin to keep players like Meinerz and Glasgow at guard, getting all the reps they can there.
