No. 2 receiver who could torment the Denver Broncos: Arizona Cardinals DeAndre Hopkins.

Despite DeAndre Hopkins being traded out of the AFC from the Houston Texans to the Arizona Cardinals, the Denver Broncos will still have to play him once every four seasons.

Although Hopkins is suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season, the two teams don’t play until Week 15. That gives Hopkins plenty of time to get up to speed with Kyler Murray and should be a real problem for the Broncos.

There’s a significant difference in quarterback play from now and the past four times Hopkins faced the Broncos.

With Brock Osweiler at quarterback for Houston, Hopkins had five receptions for 36 yards in one matchup and one reception for six yards in another. With Matt Schaub throwing the football, Hopkins had one reception for eight yards.

In 2018, Deshaun Watson connected with Hopkins on ten passes for 105 yards and a score, and in 2019, the two connected on seven receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.

The last two times Hopkins faced the Broncos, he came away with a combined 17 receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Overall against Denver, he has 23 receptions, 269 yards, and two touchdowns in four games with the Houston Texans.

So yeah, the quality of the quarterback is a huge deal and Hopkins should pose a major threat to Denver’s young secondary.
