Which cornerbacks will give Denver Broncos trouble in 2022?

2. Sauce Gardner and Derek Stingley, Jr

The Denver Broncos will face the top rookie cornerbacks in 2022, Sauce Gardner and Derek Stingley, Jr.

Both were drafted within the top five of the NFL Draft, which is absurdly high.

They’re both projected to be top-shelf, lockdown corners at the next level, and there have been many instances of rookie cornerbacks having an immediate impact in the NFL.

The Broncos will play both of these players before their bye week, seeing Stingley early in the season, and Gardner right before the bye.

I think I would feel confident in Denver’s group of receivers to be just fine, but perhaps, for example, Jerry Jeudy struggles against one of them for whatever reason, or Courtland Sutton struggles against one of them, for whatever reason.

Just because they’re rookies and Denver’s receivers are really good, doesn’t mean they’ll have it easy.

Perhaps part of Stingley’s defensive tendencies is really messing with Sutton, Patrick, or Jeudy.

Fortunately, since Denver is at least three deep at WR,  Gardner and Stingley will only be able to do so much.

Expect both players to be the bonafide CB1’s on their respective teams some week one.
