Denver Broncos surprise cut candidate at WR: Seth Williams

It pains me to even suggest this.

There are so many receivers on the Denver Broncos roster right now that I would hate to see get cut outright, and Seth Williams is certainly one of them.

Williams is a big-bodied receiver with outstanding speed who spent most of last season on the Broncos’ practice squad.

He was called up to the active roster late in the year — presumably to prevent any potential of poaching in the reserve/futures contract process — and he came in and made a really nice play against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Williams’ big-play potential will no longer be enough to really keep him on the roster. Just like many others on this list, he’s going to have to play his way onto this team and not just as a receiver, but also on special teams.

Taking the spot on this roster from a guy like Tyrie Cleveland or Kendall Hinton is not going to be easy.

The Broncos obviously like Williams’ potential but do they like it enough to keep (stash) him on a roster where other guys can contribute right now?

I’m not so sure.

Hopefully, for everyone’s sake, the whole receiver room is able to have a great camp and preseason and the Broncos can flip some players for value like they did Trinity Benson last year instead of just cutting them outright.
