Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback

It would have been quite interesting to see what the Broncos would have done at quarterback in 2022 had they not been able to trade for Wilson. Would they have rode with Drew Lock? Would they have reached for Malik Willis or Desmond Ridder in the draft?

Or would they have actually entertained another season with Teddy Bridgewater?

That’s a scary thought. Bridgewater is a nice guy and a good leader on the field, but the moment he was declared the winner of last year’s quarterback competition with Lock, it was a terrible sign.

Bridgewater just did nothing to threaten a defense. Sure, he’s efficient. He’ll make the right reads and he’ll complete a ton of four-yard passes, but he also won’t lead too many scoring drives because opposing defenses just are not scared of his abilities.

He’s a good backup quarterback but at this stage in his career, that is all he is. He will get a chance to do that this season for the Miami Dolphins, who gave him a one-year deal back in March.

The Dolphins will be Bridgewater’s sixth NFL team.
