Best edge rushers Denver Broncos face in 2022
2. Nick Bosa, San Francisco 49ers
The second-best pass rusher the Denver Broncos will face in 2022 is Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers.
Bosa was a high draft pick in 2019, notching nine sacks and 25 QB hits, winning the DROY award.
He only played in two games in 2020 because of injury, but came back very strong in 2021, notching 15.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, and 32 QB hits, earning a Pro Bowl nod.
While Bosa doesn’t have a huge resume because he’s only been in the league for three years, he’s just 24 and came off one of the best seasons of any pass rusher in the NFL.
Bosa is going to be perhaps the best pass rusher in the league in a couple of short seasons.
Naturally, Bosa has a high RAS score, which measures overall athleticism. What also might be scary about this matchup is that the Denver Broncos will face Nick Bosa early in the season, so there’s reason to believe he’ll have less wear and tear on his body.
Another crazy stat that favors Nick Bosa is that he’s already got eight playoff sacks in six career playoff games.
He added four forced fumbles in 2021, and I would expect him to be even better in 2022, which would mark two years from his season ended injury in 2020.
