The AFC West loaded up on a ton of talent this offseason, especially at edge rusher, so who are the best edge rushers the Denver Broncos play in 2022?

The Denver Broncos offensive line is going to have their hands full in 2022.

While the team has a very manageable schedule., the gauntlet of passer rushers they play is insane.

I’m going to take on the task of ranking them to see who I think is the very best.

Denver needed to add some more quality players along their offensive line for this very reason and to keep Russell Wilson upright.

They added players like Tom Compton, Billy Turner, re-signed Calvin Anderson, and drafted Luke Wattenberg.

Denver already did have a solid core of players, so no major overhauls seemed to be necessary.

Now that Denver is poised to face off against some of the best pass rushers in the league, the offensive line, specifically Garett Bolles and whoever plays at right tackle, will have to be at their very best.

If not, we could be looking at Russell Wilson taking more sacks than he normally does, and he normally does take quite a bit.

However, he has never had the opportunity to play behind a quality offensive line like Denver’s and has never had the deep core of offensive players to use as well.

With that said, let’s take a shot at ranking the best pass rushers the Denver Broncos will play in 2022.  We’ll start with some Honorable Mentions.

Best edge rushers Denver Broncos face in 2022

Honorable Mentions: Yannick Ngakoue, Indianapolis Colts, Leonard Floyd, Los Angeles Rams, Khalil Mack, Los Angeles Chargers

These three players just missed the cut in my top four rankings.  Obviously, they’re all extremely talented.   Yannick Ngakoue was traded from the Raiders to the Colts this offseason, marking his fifth different team since 2019.

Even though he’s bounced around a good bit, he’s never had a season where he’s tallied less than eight sacks.  He’s very consistent, doesn’t miss games, and is entering his age-27 season.

Leonard Floyd was a high draft pick back in 2016, but never really lived up to that hype.

However, he’s excelled in Los Angeles since signing with the Rams, notching 20 sacks in two years, along with 37 QB hits.

Without Von Miller, Floyd may not be as effective, but that Rams front with Aaron Donald is still nasty, so Floyd should still be taken seriously.

Khalil Mack, to an extent, seems to be on a steady decline.  Both his sack totals and QB hit totals have slowly dropped, and he isn’t nor shouldn’t be considered among the very elite at the position.

However, Mack is a potential future Hall of Famer and has a ton on his resume, including a DPOY award in 2016 and being named to three All-Pro teams.

Mack will enjoy a solid season opposite Joey Bosa, but I don’t think he’s among the four best pass rushers Denver will face in 2022, which is scary.
