Denver Broncos roster sleeper no. 2: Travis Fulgham, WR

The wide receiver position is about to be one of the toughest to crack on this Denver Broncos’ roster.

Provided KJ Hamler is healthy at the start of training camp, and things are trending that way, there may only be one or two available spots at this position group right now with some early favorites leading the way to take them.

One player to keep an eye on, though, is Travis Fulgham.

Fulgham was signed to a reserve/futures deal this offseason after signing to the Broncos’ practice squad last year.

He had a big stretch of games back in the 2020 season with the Philadelphia Eagles where he became a very popular fantasy football waiver pickup, but that production didn’t amount to a full-time role or even a solidified job in Philadelphia.

The fact that he went so absolutely bonkers for a stretch of games with the Eagles in 2020 has certainly made him a prominent name among the Denver Broncos’ list of potential roster candidates in 2022.

Fulgham has good size at the position, strong hands, and he can play inside or outside.

From weeks 4-8 of the 2020 season, no wide receiver in football had more yards than Fulgham did. There’s certainly potential here to be tapped into with a strong quarterback situation like the Denver Broncos have.

What will be fascinating to see is how often guys like Fulgham rotate into the offense with the first unit. The Broncos did that plenty in the Vic Fangio era so guys could get the best look possible in camp.

You have to assume we’ll see much of the same this year, because what happens if a player like Fulgham is able to gain Wilson’s trust and have some chemistry with him?

The Broncos are very deep at receiver overall, but a player like Fulgham emerging could take this unit to the next level.
