Best Denver Broncos QB performances over last 5 years

1. Drew Lock, 2020, Week 14

The best Denver Broncos’ QB performance over the last five years came in the 2020 season, when the Broncos played the Panthers in Carolina.

Drew Lock needed every bit of this performance to lead the Broncos over the Panthers.  Denver opened up a 15-point lead late in the third quarter, but Carolina managed to claw back, getting within five points into the fourth quarter.

However, a 49-yard bomb from Drew Lock to K.J. Hamler proved to be enough, as Denver went on to win, 32-27.

Lock threw for four touchdowns on the day, completing 21 of his 27 passes for 280 yards.  His 149.5 rating.

This was the third-best passer rating from a Denver Broncos QB in franchise history.  It was that good, regardless of how bad the Panthers’ defense was at the time.

He made virtually no mistakes, as Hamler, Nick Vannett, and Tim Patrick all caught touchdown passes from Drew Lock.  This was Denver’s final win of the season, and at that point, the Drew Lock era was about done, though it was a nice performance nonetheless.
