Best Denver Broncos QB performances over the last 5 years
4. Drew Lock, 2020, Week 8
The fourth-best Denver Broncos’ quarterback performance over the last five years came halfway through the 2020 COVID season when the Broncos played the Chargers at home.
Denver was down by as much as 21 points into the fourth quarter, but a late-game comeback which was sparked by a Phillip Lindsay touchdown run was just enough to edge out the rookie Herbert and the Chargers.
It was the classic tale of the Chargers snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It was a total and utter collapse, and Drew Lock was stellar during this comeback, leading a game-winning drive as time expired.
Lock wasn’t perfect this game, but the late-game heroics and being able to outduel Justin Herbert was good enough.
Drew lock went 26/41, threw for 248 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. It earned a respectable 94.4 passer rating.
None of his numbers jump off the page, but the way the game unfolded in the second half, the no-quit attitude from the Broncos and the swag of Drew Lock was enough to win.
