After being sentenced to six years of quarterback purgatory, the Denver Broncos have a legitimate QB. Let’s look at the best QB performances since 2017.

I recently wrote an article ranking the top games the Denver Broncos have played over the last five years.

This piece is going to rank the top five quarterback performances over that same timeframe.  I’m not using an exact science for this; this isn’t ranking the best games by quarterback rating or touchdowns thrown, but rather what I think were the best overall performances.

To say that I struggled to find five quality games from the post-Manning era QB is an understatement.

struggled.  In all honesty, any time a Denver Broncos quarterback had a good game, they had a great game.  The quarterback performances on this list were nothing short of stellar.

In case Broncos Country forgot, some of the names that played at quarterback for the team since 2017 include Paxton Lynch, Drew Lock, Joe Flacco, Case Keenum, Brandon Allen, among a few others sprinkled in there.

Broncos Country deserves every bit of the winning that Russell Wilson is going to bring to Mile High.

Now that he’s in town, there’s nothing wrong with looking back in the past to see what kind of games we were able to occasionally experience.

With that said, let’s look at the top five quarterback performances over the past five years for the Denver Broncos.

5. Teddy Bridgewater, 2021, Week 2

The fifth-best quarterback performance came in week two of the 2021 season.

The Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars squared off in Florida under insane heat and clear skies.

This was the second game of the Teddy Bridgewater era, which started very nicely.

This was perhaps Bridgewater’s best performance as a member of the Denver Broncos. It was an objectively good performance from the QB.

He went 26/34, threw for 328 yards, two touchdowns, and earned a rating of 125.6.  It was an efficient game from Bridgewater, and he wasn’t just checking it down like he usually does.

He took shots down the field, including a massive throw and catch with Courtland Sutton.

Sutton caught nine passes for 159 yards this game, and Tim Patrick and Noah Fant each caught a touchdown pass.

The Denver Broncos started slow but managed to win by a score of 23-13.

It was expected that the Broncos beat the Jaguars, so this game may have crept under the radar.  It was a stellar performance from Teddy and deserves recognition.
