Broncos projected 2022 sacks leader: Randy Gregory

There are some fun options for this one as general manager George Paton has placed an emphasis on pass-rushing options and he has brought in a few intriguing ones such as Randy Gregory and second-round pick Nik Bonitto.

Broncos fans are going to want to see Bradley Chubb be the sacks leader but at this point, he is difficult to trust with his injury history.

Another option is Malik Reed, who actually led the team in sacks in 2020 even though it was Chubb who was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Last season, it was a defensive lineman (Shelby Harris) who led the team in sacks. That won’t happen this coming season.

The Broncos are going to pressure the quarterback often and they are going to have a lot of guys who rack up a good number of sacks. Taking Bonitto to lead the team in sacks would be a bold move here, and one I just about made, but as a rookie, he’ll still face a bit of a learning curve.

Instead, it will be Gregory who proves to be worth all of the money that the team shelled out for him in free agency as he has the biggest year of his career to date.

Prediction: Randy Gregory nets 11 QB sacks
