Best Denver Broncos games over last five seasons

1. Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers, Week 8, 2020

Perhaps one of the best games and comebacks the NFL has seen in recent history, the 2020 matchup between the Chargers and the Broncos was one for the ages.

The infamous 2020 season for the Denver Broncos was supposed to be the year we saw Drew Lock take a massive step forward.  However, as we know, that wasn’t the case.

Lock’s 2020 season was mostly down, but he did have his moments.

This was a big moment.

The game looked lost from the beginning, and about halfway through the third quarter, the team was down by 21.  The limited home crowd began booing, and it just felt like a perfect encapsulation of the 2020 Denver Broncos.

However, there was a glimmer of hope.

The rally began with a 55-yard touchdown by Phillip Lindsay.  It was a much-needed spark, but the team was still down by two scores.

After some defensive stops, the Broncos drove down the field and made it a one-touchdown game after a nice grab in the back of the endzone from Albert Okwuegbunam.

The Chargers added a field goal to make it 27-17, so Denver still had work to do.

Halfway through the fourth quarter, Lock hit DaeSean Hamilton for a 40-yard touchdown, which cut the Chargers’ lead to three.

The Chargers followed up with a field goal late in the game, and Denver then trailed by 6.

It was 30-24, and Lock and the Denver Broncos offense had to drive the length of the field.

The football Gods were clearly on the Broncos’ side, as Lock led a game-winning drive, getting a do-over on pass interference.

The last play of the game, Drew Lock hit K.J. Hamler in the right corner of the endzone, and Brandon McManus added the extra point for the 31-30 win.

The 24-3 deficit was erased by a 28-6 Denver Broncos scoring run.

That was the best game over the past five years.
