Over the last five years, the Denver Broncos have not won a ton of games, but they have won some. Let’s look at their best five wins in the last five years.
The last five seasons have not been kind to Broncos Country, but the Denver Broncos have indeed won their fair share of extremely intense games.
I’ve hardly missed a snap since the 2016 season, so I decided to take a trip down memory lane.
I want to try and rank the best five games the Broncos have won over the past five seasons.
This can serve as a nice memory for us fans. The “post-Manning QB” era of bad quarterback play is more or less closed, so I think it’s perfectly valid to look at the past years to try and reminisce.
Those in Broncos Country who have watched most of the games can definitely think of a few that come to mind as being the most intense and heart-wrenching.
I actually ended up picking a whopping three games from the 2018 season for this list.
I guess that makes sense because I began calling Case Keenum “Cardiac Case” since he always seemed to have a tendency for the dramatic.
The other two games not from 2018 are from 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, games in 2017 and 2019 did not make the cut, but this is simply my opinion.
So, let’s take a trip down memory lane at the five best Denver Broncos wins over the last five seasons.

5. Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers, Week 11, 2018
I have extremely vivid memories of this game. It was a Sunday, and I was about halfway through my undergraduate studies at Waynesburg University.
I was also at work, so I would try and stream the game on my phone and watch it while on the job. The 2018 season was up and down for Denver, and this game perfectly encapsulated that. At one point, Denver trailed by 12, going down 7-19 after a touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to Antonio Gates.
This was later in the third quarter, so a comeback was looking unlikely, especially considering Denver was 3-6 at the time, and the Chargers were 7-2.
However, Cardiac Case Keenum helped orchestrate two touchdown drives to give the Broncos the lead, 20-19. The Chargers then hit a field goal to make it 22-20 them, and Denver was then tasked with a game-winning drive.
Keenum led the Broncos down the field, hitting then-rookie Courtland Sutton in the middle of the field to set up a spike on the next play to stop the block.
I remember Garett Bolles launching a fist in the air in celebration after Keenum clocked it with a few seconds remaining. Both Sutton and Emmanuel Sanders jumped up and down in celebration as well, and Keenum gave a Tiger Woods-esque fist pump.
Enter, Brandon McManus, who hit a 34-yard field goal to seal the deal, stealing a game for the Chargers, who won 12 games that season.
