3. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders’ secondary is actually pretty solid.  They traded for Rock Ya-Sin this offseason to give them a quality corner.  They also have Nate Hobbs, who enjoyed a very good rookie season, along with other corners like Anthony Averett, Cre’Von LeBlanc, and Trayvon Mullen Jr.

Their safeties are a bit less talented but are still solid.  They’re led by veteran Duron Harmon and Tre’von Moehrig.  Overall, it’s a good unit.

They’ve got some insane depth at corner and adequate safeties.

I would say this is a high floor, low ceiling unit.  They don’t have a true shutdown corner, and no All-Pro at safety, but rather a collection of very solid players.

And sometimes, that’s the best way to go.

The Buffalo Bills are a team that kind of follows this.  They have several All-Pro caliber players, but are mostly made up of good-very good players and have strong depth.

Don’t look now, but the Raiders do indeed have a decent team.

Their secondary was a cause for concern for years, but it appears like they’ve figured it out.
