Where does Russell Wilson rank among AFC West QBs?

3. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert is the third-best quarterback in the division.  Some Denver Broncos fans may disagree, which is fine, but I think there is enough proof that Herbert is a clear third.

After 32 career games, Justin Herbert has a 15-17 record, 69 career touchdown passes, and 25 interceptions.

He’s won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and made the Pro Bowl in 2021.  He’s averaging nearly 300 yards passing per game so far.

However, Herbert hasn’t done much outside of filling the stat sheet in his first two years.

In 2021, his Chargers went 1-3 in their last four games, which ended their playoff chances.

In those four games, Herbert threw for eight touchdowns on four interceptions, but only earned a measly 89.7 QB rating.

Herbert is going to enjoy a very successful NFL career, but his first two seasons have more so been him racking up a ton of yards and touchdown passes instead of more substantial success, like making the playoffs and winning playoff games, something the second-best quarterback in the division knows a lot about.
