Week 3 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Another primetime matchup for the Broncos on national television, something they didn’t do often last season. Unlike the game against Seattle, this one comes against what many figure to be one of the NFC’s better teams.

The San Francisco 49ers were just a couple of plays away from reaching the Super Bowl last season and they have the roster and the coaching staff in place to make that kind of a run again. But who is going to be the quarterback?

Will it be former first-round pick Trey Lance or Jimmy Garoppolo?

The 49ers will likely hold a quarterback competition throughout the summer since Garoppolo was never traded, as many expected that he would be. That could be because San Francisco couldn’t find the right deal or because Lance just isn’t ready to be the guy.

Either way, the Broncos have their guy and Wilson is quite familiar with the 49ers, having played them countless times over the past 10 seasons and developing quite the rivalry against them.

This will be a good early test for both teams.
