The Denver broncos have released their 2022 schedule. When does the team face each of their divisional opponents?

There’s a new sheriff in town for the Denver Broncos, and that comes with the expectation that there will be more victories over their division rivals for years to come.

The 2022 schedule has been released, and now we know when exactly the Broncos will not only play every team on it, but when their division games will be.

Here are the team’s division games for the 2022 season.

Week 4: Denver Broncos @ Las Vegas Raiders, 3:25PM ET

The first division game on the schedule comes in week 4, on October 4th, 2022 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Broncos have dropped the past four matchups to the Raiders, last defeating them on December 29, 2019. Since then, they were able to keep all but one of those games close.

As for Russell Wilson’s record against them, he won both of the team’s matchups since joining the Seahawks in 2012. He threw three touchdowns and one interception in his first game against the Raiders, but didn’t throw a touchdown nor an interception in his second meeting.

Week 6: Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers, 7:15PM ET

The Broncos head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in week 6. Russell Wilson is 0-2 against the Chargers.

This is the first of two prime time division games for the Broncos in 2022.

Denver went 1-1 against the Chargers during the 2021 season. Their first meeting up the season came on November 28, when the Broncos won 28-13. Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock both played in the game because Bridgewater suffered a leg injury.

Week 6 will also mark the first game cornerback Bryce Callahan will play against his most-recent former team. Callahan signed with the Chargers in free agency after an injury-filled stint in Denver.

Another familiar face, Chris Harris Jr., will not however play—unless he ends up re-signing with Los Angeles between now and Week 6.

Week 11: Las Vegas Raiders @ Denver Broncos, 4:05PM ET

After a four-week division break, the Broncos will host their first division game of the season on November 20th against Las Vegas.

It’s a fairly late time of the year to host their first division game, but the interesting thing here is that it will be a little chillier at that time. I’m not entirely sure how big of an impact cold weather will be for the West Coast Raiders, but I can’t imagine it will make things any easier for them.

It should not have a big impact for veterans, but I can see it potentially being a problem for some rookies on the Raiders.

Week 14: Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs, 8:20PM ET

Going into Arrowhead late in the season could potentially be a problem for the Broncos due to the crowd noise.

Oh yeah, and it’s a prime time game.

At this point in the year, I expect both teams to be worn out a little bit and tired.

Russell Wilson has a 1-1 record against the Chiefs. He won his second matchup to them in 2018 and has a 5-0 touchdown-interception ratio against Kansas City.

My expectation for this game is that it should be a close game with Wilson on Denver’s side. Maybe the Broncos will be able to actually pull off a victory at Arrowhead—something that hasn’t been done since 2015. In fact, 2015 was the last time the Broncos even beat the Chiefs, no matter where the game was played.

Times hopefully have changed now, however.

Week 17: Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos, 1PM ET

The last time the Broncos beat the Chiefs at home was 2014, when Manning beat Alex Smith by throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Emmanuel Sanders caught eight passes for 108 yards during that game and Manning’s touchdowns went to Demaryius Thomas, Julias Thomas, and Jacob Tamme.

A home victory over the Chiefs is long overdue. I mean long overdue. It’s time for things to change.

It should be quite a bit easier (not easy, but easier) to face the Chiefs due to wide receiver and speed demon Tyreek Hill no longer on the team.

Week 18: Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos, Date/Time TBD

What a way to finish the year: two home division games in a row. Hopefully by this time, the Broncos will be on a winning streak and close out the 2022 season with a bang and are headed right into the playoffs.

Whether that’s as a division winner or as a wildcard, well we’ll have to wait and see. We’re a long way from seeing all of that unfold.

Unfortunately, I do see some injuries and fatigue by this time, obviously. There won’t be a single team in the league without injuries.

However, as long as the quarterback is healthy, the Broncos will have a fighting chance. Russell Wilson has only missed two games in his career, both coming last year due to finger surgery.
