While the focus is now on Russell Wilson & Co. this defense has a wealth of talent that can win us games, if we put the right packages on the field.

While we can never really know what George Paton may have up his sleeve, we have a pretty good view of what the roster will look like come September.

The defense has been the heart and soul of this team since Peyton retired, yet now with Russ at the helm, the focus has shifted back to the offense.

However, this defensive unit is chock full of talent and ready to terrorize opposing teams. This offseason we’ve said goodbye to Shelby Harris, Bryce Callahan, Kyle Fuller, and Von Miller (again).

Yet we’ve retained a strong youthful core, key veterans, and added guys like Randy Gregory, DJ Jones, K’Waun Williams, and Alex Singleton.

The draft added a fresh crop of young defensive talent as well and overall selected six players on this side of the ball.

This unit looks reloaded with new and familiar personnel and is ready to compete for the AFC West title.

Ejiro Evero has come out of the gate saying he wants to play fast, aggressive defense, and he’ll likely bring concepts he developed while coaching with the likes of Raheem Morris, Wade Phillips, and Vic Fangio.

I’m excited to see which formations he draws up to deal with different situations this year.
