Calvin Anderson, Offensive tackle

The Broncos will have a wide-open competition at right tackle with Calvin Anderson, Billy Turner and Tom Compton expected to compete for the starting spot. But the team likely won’t keep all three of them.

Since Turner and Compton are free-agent signings, we’ll put Anderson in this spot.

The Broncos could choose to keep all three of these players since none of them is really a true starting right tackle so they may want to keep their options open, but that could force the idea of cutting a player like Netane Muti.

Would you rather keep all three of these players instead of Muti? I wouldn’t.

Anderson will be entering his fourth year in Denver and the organization has definitely believed in his abilities to keep him around that long. Some may even see him as the favorite to win the right tackle job.

But for as long as he has been around, he has only made five starts for the team. If he can show himself to be the clear-cut choice to start at right tackle, the team may see a guy like Compton as unnecessary to keep around when players like Muti or Luke Wattenberg may be better, younger options.

The Broncos have a plethora of offensive linemen on the roster and there will be some tough decisions to make.
