What three mistakes did Denver Broncos make during NFL Draft?

Denver Broncos mistakes during NFL Draft

2. Not selecting an inside linebacker

Another mistake I thought the team made was not selecting an inside linebacker during the draft.  With the news that Baron Browning is going to move to EDGE, the team has an opening next to Josey Jewell.

So far, the candidates to start next to Jewell would be Alex Singleton or Jonas Griffith.  Eh.

Griffith showed some promise in a few appearances for Denver last year, but he’s got virtually no track record on defense at all.

Singleton racked up a bunch of tackles with the Eagles the past couple of seasons but struggles in coverage and against the run.  He’s not a viable option to start.

Griffith seems like the guy who could slide in next to Jewell, but that would leave the linebacking room still missing another body or two.

Could Denver nab someone up in free agency still?  Sure, but I don’t like the idea of adding no one to that room during the draft.

They’ve apparently added two linebackers in the undrafted free agent market, but the likelihood of any of those guys becoming legitimate contributors is virtually zero.

Hopefully, Denver ends up being fine on the field with this unit, but I have some reservations as it stands right now.
