Broncos select Chad Muma, linebacker, Wyoming

This is the spot I keep going to when talking about this draft and there’s reason to stop now. If Chad Muma is available with the No. 64 pick, he is the guy to take. I don’t think Trey McBride will still be there but Muma certainly could be.

Muma would tip the scales favorably for the Broncos’ defense as an upgrade is sorely needed at the inside linebacker position, but when was the last time that wasn’t the case? Muma is a three-down guy who happens to be a tackling machine and can drop back into coverage.

The Broncos need more than Josey Jewell and a bunch of role players at inside linebacker, though it remains to be seen if the plan is really to move Baron Browning to the outside. Even if not, the team still needs more at inside linebacker and Muma, who was born and raised in Colorado, is that guy.

A great secondary option, if still on the board, could be Leo Chenal out of Wisconsin.
