2022 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos select USC EDGE Rusher Drake Jackson 75th overall.

Edge. Drake Jackson . 75. player. 808. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. USC

Von Miller’s last couple of games for the Denver Broncos did not turn out the way anybody had hoped, and therefore he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams. (Congratulations are in order to him for winning the Super Bowl).

There seemed to be an improvement in the pass rush department following the trade. However, edge rusher is a big need heading into the 2022 NFL Draft.

Stephen Weatherly, acquired from the Minnesota Vikings, had two sacks for the Broncos in nine games but left for the Cleveland Browns in free agency.

Bradley Chubb needs to prove that he can be healthy for an entire season. Randy Gregory, a new addition in 2022, had arthroscopic surgery after signing with the Broncos and will miss offseason work. Malik Reed does not appear to be much more than a rotational player.

Drake Jackson is a star in the making. He has experience playing with his hand in the dirt as well as standing up over tackles.

The knock on Jackson is that at least one scout believes that he could benefit from adding some weight to his frame.

This pick by the Denver Broncos is something the team can afford. Randy Gregory will be ready to go for the season opener and Bradley Chubb hopefully will stay healthy, so right now, Jackson can be a depth piece with room to grow.
