9. Seattle Seahawks: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

This is the kind of madness in the NFL Draft I am 100 percent here for.

Would the Seahawks turn around and use the first-round pick they just acquired from the Denver Broncos in the Russell Wilson trade to select Desmond Ridder?

Based on how things have been portrayed this entire offseason, this pick would be largely laughed at by the Twitterverse.

For me? I like to keep an open mind and I think Ridder in Seattle would be fascinating. He’s a dynamic dual-threat at the position, he’s been a tremendous leader for that Cincinnati team, he’s got plenty of arm talent, and the Seahawks obviously have the need.

Ridder sneaks into many first-round mock drafts these days, so Seattle may not be able to get him at 40.

Do they view him as a possible franchise QB or as a QB dart throw? That is the difference between him being picked at 9 or going late in the first or early in the second.

10. New York Jets: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

The computer simulation ended the fall of Evan Neal here at pick no. 10 to the New York Jets.

Neal is a freakish athlete who is absolutely massive. The Jets have made some substantial investments in the offensive line in recent years and the right tackle position might be the last one that needs addressing.

Neal could fill that slot and be an instant impact player but I can’t help but wonder if the Jets will prioritize EDGE, CB, and WR with their top picks.
