7. New York Giants: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

In an ideal world, I think the Giants would absolutely love to trade out of this slot.

The question is — who is some team moving up for?

Would it be a corner? Tackle? Quarterback?

I think any of those answers could be viable at this stage but it is really hard to fit two guys at 5 and 7 to the Giants that you look at and say, “Oh yeah, that’s the dream draft.”

I’m not sure that scenario really exists in this year’s class.

Maybe the Giants should trade this pick in a package to get Deebo Samuel…

8. Atlanta Falcons: Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State

For the longest time, I felt like Jermaine Johnson could be the ideal pick for the Denver Broncos at pick number 9 overall. Now, that’s no longer a discussion and Johnson could got in the top five picks.

His 2021 season certainly puts him in the “worthy” category of that distinction.

The former Georgia transfer had a monstrous season at Florida State this past year and would be a great pick for the talent-depleted Atlanta Falcons, who might be the early favorite to pick first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
