Three reasons Denver Broncos can underwhelm

3. Sneaky tough 2022 schedule

The Denver Broncos finished fourth in the AFC West in 2021, so they should have a “fourth-place schedule” right?

According to sharpfootballanalysis.com, the Denver Broncos have the 18th toughest schedule in the NFL in 2022.  Their schedule is about average, but they do have some sneaky tough matchups to watch out for.

Obviously, they have six games against the Chiefs, Raiders, and Chargers.  They also square up against the NFC West, which features the defending Super Bowl champions, the Cardinals, who went 11-6 last year, and the 49ers, who went 10-7 and were very dominant down the stretch.

They also play the Titans, Ravens, and Colts, among a few other teams who aren’t as good.

Denver does indeed have several very tough matchups in 2022, and some of these games may be decided by a field goal in the final seconds.

The Broncos have been on the unfortunate end of last-second scores during the past six seasons, and they could endure more of these in 2022.

One of the best things about the schedules, though, is that the Broncos do have the easiest schedule in the AFC West, and I’d argue Denver has the most talented roster in the division by far.

We’ll see what happens when the season begins, but if the team does underwhelm in 2022, these three reasons could be why.
