While the Denver Broncos’ roster is mostly set going into 2022, what are the three biggest questions for this team heading into the Russell Wilson era?

After long last, the Denver Broncos are going to field a competitive team. The acquisition of Russell Wilson has propelled this team back into relevance. The trade for Wilson just might be the biggest move that any team has made in a very long time.

It’s dominated the NFL landscape since it happened, and while the Broncos are going to be very good, they still have a few questions that will need answered before the season, or will be answered during it.

The team’s roster has talent on every side of the ball and is sufficiently deep at a plethora of positions.

George Paton, even after making a huge trade for “DangeRuss” Wilson, still has a ton of draft capital to further enhance this team’s roster heading into a very important season.

But, again, the roster and team as a whole, including the coaching staff, have a few questions that will need to be answered at some point.

What are the most burning questions for the Denver Broncos heading into a pivotal 2022 season?

Three burning questions in 2022 for Denver Broncos

1. Who is going to be the right tackle?

The Denver Broncos were seemingly relying on Ja’Wuan James in 2021 before he tore his Achilles.  The team then turned to longtime vet Bobby Massie to man the spot in 2021.

Massie played mostly well, missing a few games, but was effective when on the field and was by no means a liability.

In fact, many in Broncos Country wanted the team to re-sign the player.

However, with the Vic Fangio administration gone, the team signed a couple of players to potentially play right tackle who are better fits for the scheme.

The team signed Tom Compton, former 49er, and Billy Turner, former Packer and Bronco. The Broncos also brought back Calvin Anderson, who is surely going to be able to compete for the starting job.

However, the Broncos appear to have, at this point, three different options at right tackle, and they’ve hosted a few offensive linemen on top 30 visits before the NFL draft.

Billy Turner might be the most likely starter here, but there’s clearly some variability with this position.

Denver will need to ensure they get this right for 2022 and beyond, seeing as the AFC West is loaded with great pass rushers.
