Yes, the two best second-round picks in Broncos history came in the same draft.

Just 23 picks after selecting Johnson, the Broncos found Simon Fletcher out of Houston and he would go on to be another player that spent his entire career with the Broncos.

Almost ridiculously, Fletcher was never selected to a Pro Bowl but the Broncos would later honor him as a member of the Ring of Fame. And that was well deserved.

Until Von Miller finally broke the record, Fletcher’s 97.5 career sacks stood as the team record for 25 years.

From 1989-1993, Fletcher posted double-digit sacks in each of those seasons, including 16 in the 1992 season. But Fletcher was not just a pass-rusher, he could contribute in defending the run as well, posting six seasons with 89 or more tackles.

He finished his career with 828 total tackles, 20 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries and two interceptions to go along with all of the sacks.
