The Denver Broncos still have some roster needs leading up to the 2022 NFL Draft. What free agents should they add to best take advantage of their picks?

How can the Denver Broncos do better than hitting a home run in the 2022 offseason? Even though adding Russell Wilson has made this team a contender, there’s still plenty for general manager George Paton to do before the 2022 NFL Draft to upgrade his roster.

Specifically, this year’s free agent class was loaded enough that right now, there may be a number of bargains available for the Denver Broncos to sign to add outstanding depth to the roster overall.

Although the Broncos are working with just under $15 million in cap space at this point, there are always ways to finesse the cap and make improvements to your team if you’re motivated to do so.

Denver Broncos FAs to sign before 2022 NFL Draft: Bryce Callahan, CB

One of the free agents the Denver Broncos should bring back before the 2022 NFL Draft is cornerback Bryce Callahan.

Callahan has been oft-injured but he’s also been very good when healthy the last two seasons for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have a top four at the cornerback position right now of Pat Surtain II, Ronald Darby, K’Waun Williams, and Michael Ojemudia.

How confident is the team in Ojemudia if an injury happens to Surtain or Darby? Who would slide into the slot if K’Waun Williams is injured?

The NFL Draft obviously plays a role and the Broncos could fortify their depth using draft capital at the cornerback position, but a player like Callahan would just solidify the depth in that room looking ahead to next season.

He could legitimately start at any of the cornerback positions whether you’re asking him to play inside or outside.

After the team re-signed Kareem Jackson to a one-year deal, they should absolutely be willing to do the same for Callahan to fortify the secondary even further.
