Denver Broncos realistic targets with the 64th pick

2. Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota

The Denver Broncos appear to have a potential short-term answer at right tackle on the roster.  The newly signed Billy Turner has played right tackle in the NFL before, for the Green Bay Packers, and did quite well.

However, Turner does not appear to be a long-term solution, but rather a high-quality stopgap until George Paton can find a stable, long-term answer.

Why not Daniel Faalele from Minnesota?

Faalele is 6’8″, and nearly 400 pounds.

He’s 6’8″ and nearly 400 pounds.

Honestly, a team might use his measurables alone as a reason to draft him.

Faalele is someone who pass rushers simply cannot breeze by.  Sure, since he’s only played competitively since 2017, he’s nowhere near a finished product, but his size is something he can use to his advantage many times during his NFL career.

He’s got 35-inch arms and 11-inch hands, which is huge.  His extremely long arms and massive hands will allow him to latch onto opposing edge rushers for as long as needed.

He’s not the best athlete, which is understandable at his height, but his ceiling is through the roof, and he hasn’t consistently been a prospect that people are talking about outside of his size, so I think he’d be a target for Denver at 64.
