The Denver Broncos have had an incredible offseason in 2022, but what moves could the team potentially end up regretting down the line?

The Russell Wilson trade automatically gives the Denver Broncos and general manager George Paton an A+ for the 2022 offseason, but that doesn’t mean every move was a grand slam.

They might still turn out to be, but there’s always a chance for buyer’s remorse when you become a buyer in NFL Free Agency.

So long as the Denver Broncos are winning games, as everyone expects them to with Russell Wilson under center, it’s going to be tough to focus on the negative with any of these moves and rightfully so. However, which moves could the Broncos look back on and perhaps wish they could do over or do differently?

Let’s take a look at three of them.

Denver Broncos could regret a handful of moves in 2022

1. Including Noah Fant in the Russell Wilson trade

At this point in time, we don’t know what the alternative option to including Noah Fant in the Russell Wilson trade was.

Maybe the Seahawks were asking for Jerry Jeudy and the Broncos countered with Noah Fant. Maybe the Broncos offered Albert Okwuegbunam and the Seahawks said there would be no deal without Noah Fant.

Whatever the case, I’m sure it was difficult for the Broncos to part with Fant, one of the game’s bright young stars at the tight end position.

Fant is entering the final year of his rookie contract with a fifth-year team option for 2023 that you would anticipate the Seahawks would happily exercise considering they wanted him in the deal.

I have it on good authority that the Denver Broncos did attempt to keep Fant out of the trade, but the Seahawks weren’t going to budge.

Ultimately, since the Broncos acquired Russell Wilson, it’s hard to be mad at this move or have any regret at all. We simply may wonder what could have been had the Broncos been able to keep the entire offensive core of players intact.
