Here is a look at players that hit the free-agent market and could have been playing with a different team in 2022, but the Broncos chose to bring them back.

DeShawn Williams, Defensive lineman

DeShawn Williams is a player who has stepped up when the Broncos have called upon him over the years and without great depth along the defensive line, it made plenty of sense to bring him back.

This is Williams’ third stint with the Broncos but the first in which he’s seen playing time. He has appeared in 19 games over the past two seasons, collecting 78 tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception.

The Broncos have several players who were on the roster last season that are still waiting for their next contract. Melvin Gordon, Kareem Jackson and Alexander Johnson are among them.

Josey Jewell, Linebacker

The Broncos entered the offseason with three inside linebackers hitting unrestricted free agency. So far, Josey Jewell is the only one they have chosen to bring back.

Alexander Johnson and Kenny Young are still looking for a new team.
