The Denver Broncos signed Billy Turner to solidify their offensive line, filling the right tackle spot. Which free agents should be up next for this team?

The Denver Broncos made a move to sign free agent offensive lineman Billy Turner, the new presumptive starter at the right tackle position.

After signing Turner, the Denver Broncos shouldn’t be expected to be done in free agency. The team still has plenty of cap space (over $16 million) to do pretty much whatever it would want before the 2022 NFL Draft, but what does general manager George Paton want to do?

That’s a great question, and the reality is — nobody knows.

Even though free agent visits are often reported through the NFL’s transaction wire, the Denver Broncos were somehow able to get Billy Turner into the building without a single soul knowing about it. All the while, everyone was wondering why the Broncos had not yet signed free agent tackle Brandon Shell, another option the team had considered.

Secretive is putting it lightly.

George Paton operates in the dark.

Denver Broncos should still be active in pursuing free agent upgrades

So which free agents should the Denver Broncos be active in pursuing right now? Let’s take a look at four names, starting with a familiar one…

1. Bryce Callahan, CB

Yes, even after signing K’Waun Williams to a two-year deal, the Denver Broncos should be looking into bringing Bryce Callahan back into the fold.

In today’s NFL, you can never have too many good cornerbacks on the roster and the Broncos have been a great example of why depth is so crucial in recent years.

Ronald Darby has a pretty extensive injury history. K’Waun Williams has never played a full season.

Not that Bryce Callahan is a model of availability in the NFL but having four guys instead of three that can hang with the receivers in the AFC West is essential.

Perhaps I’m underrating Michael Ojemudia here, but I think having a proven veteran like Callahan who can play inside or outside would be a valuable pickup for the Broncos now that K’Waun Williams is in the fold.

I wasn’t in love with the idea of Callahan as the primary addition at cornerback, but as a secondary addition, I would be completely in favor.
