5 best options Broncos could have with their first pick in 2022 NFL Draft
Tom Compton and Calvin Anderson. Those are the top two options the Broncos have for the right tackle position going into 2022.
Both of those players could be great options to make a spot start here and there but for an every-week starter for the future with Wilson at quarterback, the team probably needs to do better.
There could be several options with the No. 64 pick in the draft including UCLA’s Sean Rhyan and Abraham Lucas of Washington State could be available, but so could Nicholas Petit-Frere out of Ohio State.
Petit-Frere was a five-star recruit and the number one offensive tackle prospect in the country coming out of high school. Though much of that buzz has slowed down, he still has the ability to be a starter at the professional level, even if it is not in year one.
The Broncos need to build a youthful, strong offensive line that they can keep together for many years with Wilson at quarterback. That will be a key to reaching their ultimate goals.
As good as Wilson is, he hadn’t the Seattle Seahawks past the divisional round since the 2013 season. Poor play by the offensive line was a big reason for that and the team was always trying different combinations of players to find something that worked.
The Broncos need to make this a focal point.
