The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with former Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Randy Gregory.

The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with free agent linebacker Randy Gregory, according to Vic Lombardi. After pursuing several players at outside linebacker, they’ve settled on the 29-year old. The deal is for five years, and $70 million with $28 million guaranteed.

Gregory will pair with Bradley Chubb and Jonathon Cooper at the outside linebacker position.

The move surely puts to rest the idea of Chandler Jones in orange and blue. Jones was a highly talked about potential signing of the Broncos for a while now. Per Benjamin Allbright, we could potentially see him signing with the Buffalo Bills instead.

The Denver Broncos tweeted a GIF following the news of the agreement, and it’s a funny one given that it was announced by the Dallas Cowboys that Gregory had agreed to terms with them instead.

It’s just proof that you have to wait for confirmation.

The move has made some Cowboys fans very upset.

Despite the team’s interest in Chandler Jones, per Mike Klis, Gregory was their biggest interest.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo explains the sudden change from the Cowboys signing Gregory to Gregory going to the Broncos, saying that the Cowboys tried to change language in the deal at the very last minute, which understandably would upset a player.

There are certainly concerns with this signing especially at the price tag they got him at.

Gregory has been suspended several times in his career and has missed 30 total games due to either suspension. In November, he was placed on injured reserve due to a calf injury. He also underwent knee surgery in January following the 2021 season.

Signing Gregory to the type of deal that they did is a huge risk for the Broncos. They are banking on him staying healthy and also staying out of trouble with the law. Hopefully it will pay off as they are giving him the benefit of the doubt.
