Sign tight end O.J. Howard

What would be even better than signing O.J. Howard would be if the Broncos could somehow bring in Rob Gronkowski, but there are questions about whether he wants to continue his career and he would cost top dollar, even at his age.

Another option would be Wilson’s teammate in Seattle last year, Gerald Everett, but a sneaky signing could be that of Howard, who has kind of toiled away in Tampa.

He was part of the offense during the early part of his career but his role with the Bucs really seemed to take a hit when Tom Brady came in to play quarterback. In two seasons with Brady, Howard had a total of 22 catches for 281 yards and three touchdowns.

Coming out of Alabama as a rookie, he looked like the league’s next big thing at tight end, similar to how teams viewed Kyle Pitts last year. Howard was chosen in the first round but has not come close to living up to the hype.

The only thing that could lead to that happening for him could be a change of scenery. Coming to Denver with Wilson as his quarterback could make a lot of sense and give the Broncos a suitable replacement for Noah Fant in the process.

Plus, Howard will cost quite a bit less than Gronk and probably even Everett.

Of course, now that Tom Brady has decided to unretire, no one may want to leave Tampa.
